My video is too long for Sony Vegas, it won't even open it. Is there anyway to cut it in half so it will open?

I have a video that is about 2 hours long, and sony vegas won't open it. Is there anyway to cut the video file in half and open it as seperate files? Or am I screwed for editing it?

  1. Try opening the MPEG-4 movie in Windows Movie Maker.  If you can, export or save the video to a .wmv file without cutting the movie in half.  Sony Vegas can read .wmv movies.

You can also open .mp4 videos in Quicktime.  If you have registered your copy of Quicktime, you will be able to export your video into another format - hopefully one that your Vegas can use.
