My singing voice keeps cracking. I'm very scared. My dream is to make it on broadway by 18. I'm 12. Got any remedies? Please help! I was singing "The Wizard and I'' from Wicked. And when I couldn't hit the high note at the end I got scared. Please help me thanks. =]

My voice is very strong, but I scream a lot and I am worried about my voice. =[[

  1. Everyone's voice changes - it does not mean you will not be able to sing as an adult. Give it a year or 2 and it will most likely stop.  (I sang as a kid, I sang as a teenager, I sang as an adult - my voice is not the same now as it was, but I can still sing well).  And quit screaming!  That is far worse on your voice than puberty!!!

  2. the other 2 answers are correct. I just wanted to add- STOP SCREAMING! Its terrible for your voice!

  3. This is just a natural proccess, there is nothing you can do about it. Though it is very embarrassing. It is known and understood as a normal part of life. As for your singning voice, you may have to retrain your voice. You may find it difficult to find your falsetto, but it is possible to get it back. You may lose an octave from your repitoire, but I wouldnt get to concerned.

  4. You are probably going through puberty.. even a girls voice cracks.. its not anything to be worried about..

just try some honey and voice excercises... you are going to feel like you are starting over but it will be gone before you know it..

also.. try projecting from your stomach rather than screaming.. i learned that in cheerleading and it makes your voice louder without hurting your throat..

    good luck!!!

  5. okay.. so I'm 12 also ( I'll be 13 like in 2 days, I admit it -___- )

and in winter I had the same problem as yours... first of all... don't sing for about a week and drink some lemon juice...

maybe your voice will even sound better when you go through a week without singing...

Don't sing high notes to much fright now because your voice is changing... let it develop enough to hit high notes more often... this things also happen to me when I try to sing the chorus of Hallelujah by Paramore.

Now before you sing hard songs you should try beggining with easy ones to prepare your voice...

If you like pop music you could try to prepare your voice with the following songs (which were very useful to me when I started singing at the age of 11)

    1. If We Were A Movie- Hannah Montana

    2. I Miss You- Hannah Montana

    3. Gotta Go My Own Way- Vanessa Hudgens

    4. Promise- Vanessa Hudgens

    5. Whatever Will Be- Vanessa Hudgens (this one turns a little hard because of the high notes)

and if you like punk or rock music you'd try preparing your voice with the easiest paramore songs such as:

    1. Misery Business

    2. CrushCrushCrush

    and so...
