My voice is high? ?

Question

It makes me sound g*y.

Do you think it will ever change?

Its starting to worry me.

I don't want to sound like one of those g*y grown men on Jay Leno.

It worries me so much I want a deeper voice.

if your going thru puberty than its known that men who have high voices while thru puberty have deep voices when adults

How old are you, and if you are really that worried, always talk like you are on the radio, or are a news broadcaster.

It will change.  You are just exactly like every other kid goin thru puberty.  All of us went thru exactly what you are goin thru right now.

I use to have a really high voice which sounded pretty fruity. Over the summer of going into 8th grade my voice became really cracky(was hard to talk for a few weeks) then when I entered 8th grade I literally had to convince a whole lotta people that I wasn't putting on a fake voice because it went from really high to fairly deep sounding.

How old are you? The age at which the voice deepens in a male is genetic and in some individuals does not occur until the late teens. In the meantime, don't develop bad speech habits. If you relax when you speak and don't think about how you sound, the quality of your voice will be more pleasant. Don't be in a rush to say what you have to say and speak clearly. As your vocal cords grow longer and thicker you will notice a tendency for your voice to "crack" when you try to hit the "high notes' in your speech. This is a sign that the old testosterone is kicking in. You will also learn to let your voice "come form the diaphragm". This means that you let the sound develop from your chest instead of from your head (which is what children do).

Don't be self-conscious about sounding  g*y.I have a sneaking suspicion that you sound the way a guy does before the voice changes.

I could not wait for mine to get low like my father's which was deep. He sang bass beautifully and had a very pleasant speaking voice. His voice sounded great because he was always himself, not trying to be like anyone else. The chances of having a baritone or bass voice for you are really quite high. Tenor voices are very prized in choirs and they are quite scarce. The  majority of men who sing are baritones and basses.

Can you afford to see a vocal coach to correct bad speech patterns? Some guys have gratifying results from this kind of coaching and it is better that hating the way you sound
