  1. Try singing with more of an "ah" vowel, and open your mouth more vertically, and relax your throat, and be sure to lift your soft pallet.  Hope that helps!

  2. when you practice, try doing scale.  sing low notes with loud force.  sing high notes with tone.  when you sing low notes, and try this with high notes, you might want to expand your throat so that more air flows making your tone sound more full.  and when you sing, sing pippy, happy music with fortes and prestos.  just do something thats fun, fast and loud, like the song CAN CAN.

    hope i helped

  3. It is a full tract answer.   The vocal mechanism for singers is a very delicate instrument.  Claire is correct in saying what she said but you also need to remember thatit depends on what your voice is doing.  Your airy sound may not be coming from your mouth.  it may be the way you are closing your vocalis muscles (vocal chords/folds).  If you are closing them too much to force a sound, then you may be getting that sound.  You need to make sure your throat is in a relaxed, open position for non obstruction of the air and sound.  Each time your sound hits a surface in your body it doubles.  Open the throat in a relaxed postion and raise the soft palatte.  Let all the open cavities (sinus etc.) in your head bounce around with sound. and keep it out of your nose.  No one likes to hear someone who is "stuffed up".  If your voice teacher is not telling you these things, get a new one.

  4. Say the word "sing" then hold your mouth in the "ng" position, then "hum" this way. Do sirens, scales, etc, then finally your song.
