My washing machine box leaks. why?

it is not the hoses it is the lever that i move up and down to shut the water off

  1. Where is the lever located?  On the washer or the valves the hoses hook up to on the wall?  What kind of washer?  There is a forum on the net for washers.  Google it as well.
