I just bought the machine, used. I think when I installed it I put the drain hose a little too low(about halfway up the machine) So maybe I just need to get an extension so I can raise it up some.

  1. somewhere on the washer itself is a diagram of the washer's innards.probably on the inside rear panel. good luck.

  2. need to be cheed water level switch

  3. The water level switch lets the timer know when the water is at the level you chose and its OK to start the agitator.  This switch is a diaphragm type device with a tube going into the tub to sense the water level.  You usually remove cover behind the control panel to get to it. This would be my guess.  The draining symptoms sound odd but may be somehow related.  A tech could test the switch to verify the condition.

  4. The only way a washer can drain is through the water pump or beitg siphoned from hose(check drain hose is higher than washer) How ever ther is a water level detector(under the top that switches the inlet valve off when proper level is reached(need model number) which may be stoping the tub from filling. This washer doesn't have a light load option does it??

  5. check the waste pipe is not syphening the water away.

you need an air gap in the waste which is provided by the bend in it which hooks over the drain pipe
