My washing machine won't spin or agitate? What could be the problem?

  1. do you still here the motor running?

    If so, it's most likely the belt that goes from the motor to the drum that has snapped... should be easily fixable and fairly cheap too. You can do it yourself.

    If you don't hear the motor running, it could be that the motor is burnt out, or you have a problem with the electrics... More expensive to fix and I would recommend getting it done by a pro.


  2. Broken lid switch take a pen and in the top push it down you should hear a click.

  3. Try going to www.repairclinic.com for some good troubleshooting information.  If you need parts, they offer them for sale with instructions on how to remove the old part and replace with new.

  4. Could be a lot of things.Does it fill with water?does the water shut off? Does the timer move to wash?Does it make any noise when it moves to wash?Most likely its the timer but not enough info.(could be motor or linking shaft).
