My washing machine is a Hoover Nextra, 15 months old and washes very well. The problem I have is the conditioner is still left in the drawer at the end of the wash. I've done the trouble shooting things from the handbook, cleaned drawer etc but still no joy. Are there any washing machine engineers on line today or anyone who can give sensible advice. thanks for your help.

  1. It sounds like the tube leading into your tub is "gunked up" with fabric softener. Fabric softener hardens after time, and leaves behind a greasy thick residue that's difficult to shift.I cleaned mine recently by taking out the softener drawer, and pushing a long thin bottle brush down the pipe that goes down into the tub, and pushing it up and down a few times, and then setting the washer on a rinse cycle a couple of times. Try this before you get the engineer's out, as they cost the earth. Good luck!!

  2. I have a Simpson and the conditioner holder has never done its job for me either so I just add it myself when its on the last rinse cycle and the water level is up the top.

  3. get old toothbrush take drawer out follow where the conditioner dispenser tube comes out which is usually under the drawer. that's what we did and it worked for us.

  4. They usualy work by syphon, maybe the holes blocked , usually there's a raised plastic cap that you pull off then you can clean the hole out , then it should work ok :)
