My water softener has a layer of salt in the bottom. How can I rectify this?

Th e pellets are dissolved and what is in the bottom is like table salt.I also have very poor water pressure. I have a well.

  1. You should keep your softener 1/2 to 3/4 full at all times, the salt in the bottom is no big deal, it will eventually dissolve. As to pressure, I have fine pressure, I have a pump in the well, a pump in the house, and storage tank. You may need a bigger pump in the house, and a storage tank if you don't have one.
