There is no particular theme, but our wedding colors are purple and blue.

  1. Fill cylindrical vases with candy (or something else).  Guests can take contents as their favors!

  2. Put a picture of you and your hubby with a note on the table in a little cheapy frame that says you donated money to a charity instead of centerpieces.

  3. Hydrangeas are fairly cheap, come in blue with purple, and cluster of 3 stems, with a small glass, dollar store vase shouldn't run you more then $15 a center piece, depending on availability of the flowers.

  4. Floating candles. Votives. A bowl of floating flowers of those colors.

  5. Candles and floating candles are always good. Make sure they are in a hurricane lamp or in a jar because they have to be up to fire code for reception sites :)

You can also do bowls of candy and as people do love snacks.

This is going to sound shocking.. but I do know some people who had no centerpieces at all. It's really not one of those things that makes or breaks the wedding.

  6. My wedding is in April too! My colors are green, brown, and ivory. I'm buying hurricane vases with white candles in them. I'm going to put a green ribbon around the vase and hold it together with a monogrammed sticker of our last name. You can do the same with your colors. It's going to be under $100 for 10 tables.

  7. what I am doing is taking a round, shallow, vase and filling it with water. I am still considering 2 options on how to proceed from here:

    a) float some flower petals and a candle in it

    b) float a single flower in it and add some beads or stones to the bottom that match our colours. (by single flower I mean the head of a gerber daisy matching my colours)

  8. If you don't really know what you want yet, my advice would be to browse http://www.save-on-crafts.com/ for ideas and supplies.  They have amazing prices, and even instructions for certain wedding craft projects.

They have candles and holders under $1 each, and floating candle bowls for under $5.  They also have silk flower arrangements, vases, ribbon, ect. all at great prices and in pretty much every colour you could want.

That's where I found my idea and supplies for my wedding favours.

    Good Luck!

  9. I would go for big flowers and floating candles, they are my favourite.. I have a blog showing some great centerpieces if you would like to check:http://www.weddingreceptioncenterpieces....

Also I have found a great guide book guide for chosing the right centerpieces for every season wedding, check in source.

  10. I would suggest peacock feathers. They are in those colors. They are fairly inexpenisve and you can get ones that can be put in vases and fill the vases with lights and gel and have them all lit up. You could also put candles around the vases

  11. I was at a wedding where they had large glass bowls and then added strawberries.  You could add any fruit that you wanted depending on the color.

  12.    I just got married in May and for out centerpieces we got white grecian urn pots from Kmart... I got them on sale for about $3 each, they looked very formal and had a small base on them.... I then ordered fuscia plants from a local department store greenhouse to put in them.  The fuschia plants drape kind of like a spider plant but have for the most part purple and pink buds... they come in other colors but these have always been a favorite of mine.  We put the table numbers in the plants... then let the guests take them home.  We didn't have any left.  Overall each one cost us about $12!  We wanted flowers and this was SOOOO much cheaper than floral arrangements that cost anywhere from $30 up.  Plus they lasted alot longer.
