here is the girl's dresses...done in clover (incase it changes when I link it)

I know the dresses aren't going to "match" but I think it'll look nice because that green is in the vest, just not a lot. In my opinion it'll bring the green out. He thinks it's too far off...what do you think?

  1. I have to agree with the fiancee  - they will look terrible together. One is bright cheery green and the other is well camo with darker more muted colors.

I think the colors fern, latte, truffle, or black would be a better choice. (going by the db website of the dress you picked)

If you really like clover then ditch the camo vests and find something to match the dresses.

  2. I think that the green would be ok if you can get a swatch from the bridal store, or a piece of the tux to run to the bridal store to compare the two side by side.  I think a brown or tan would complement well, but if you are looking for color stick with the green.  Other styles of bridesmaid dresses may come in various shades of greens.  Just keep in mind reception = good time and the tux jackets come off.  You don't want to have clashing colors when pics are taken at the reception.  Good for you though for going with something different.  My original thought was "Oh my god" but, I like it, and I think it will be fun... especially if the guys are into hunting, outdoorsy stuff.  If you want green and that style stick with it... we don't know what your stuff looks like for real.

Good luck to you, and stick to your guns, er- rifles :)

And don't listen to your husband they can't match colors for anything.  Mine insists black t-shirts go with black pants/shorts, as do light grey shirts and beige shorts.  They don't!!!   :)

  3. You  must be from the south! No offense I am an Arkansan!! I think it is probably going to be the closest thing to matching, unless you do brown. Chocolate Brown would be really cute! Congratulations!

  4. I love the bridesmaid dresses. How about something a bit darker and one color for the vests?

They just seem a bit too casual compared to the dresses and too busy or rather distracting instead of camouflaging? Like jade green or hunter green?

    All the best.

  5. I was going to say if you already have the dresses in Clover, then take them to the Tux place and put them up next to the vest in question.  See if it looks good, if it doesn't find something to match the dresses.  Your better off switching the vests than to change the dresses this late in the game.

  6. A camoflauge wedding...and here I'd thought I'd seen it all...

I'd say it matches close enough.

  7. Hi and congratulations!

I think that will be fine.  The green in the vest seems a little darker, but who cares?  It will compliment the vest.  It's not like you are going with a bright blue or something totally not in the color scheme.

I think you should keep it as it is.

PS -- I live in Michigan too!  In the U.P.  Too bad this wasn't a fad when my daughter got married 8 years ago, as my (now) son-in-law would have wanted those vests for sure!!

  8. I would see if you could get a sample swatch of that clover. It looks REALLY bright, and I know their colors online aren't true to the dress.

Have you thought about peridot in the same dress? A silvery green would look lovely with the vest.

  9. congrats!!!

if you're worried about the colors, have you thought about doing the dress in a dark brown or black? you really can't go wrong with either of those colors.  the clover might be a shade too light, but it doesn't look bad!

    good luck!

  10. lol goodness gracious. (that's all I'll say!)

    yeah, I think they match.

  11. I think it looks fine together.

My sister-in-law is getting married Sept 6 and they are using camo too.  Us girls are wearing fall colored dresses (MOH is in red, 2 girls in a "fallish" orange, and then 2 in brown)

They were going to do fall colors but her mom really wanted her to include camo

  12. I have a simple solution! Why don’t you have a Camouflage or Brown sash with the girl’s dresses with brown shoes? See if you can purchase fabric from the tux place. I think that would be a nice way to tie it all together.

  13. I think it will be ok but you could try a sliver bc it will pick up any color that it is beside

  14. The clover is bright in person!  I wouldn't say they match since the clover is a brighter green and the vests are a darker camo.  I'm with your fiance- don't do it!
