My weighted GPA is 4.4...but nonweighted its only a 3.6. Do schools look at nonweighted or weighted?

I am not sure whether i should take honors and ap classes this year...because some people have told me only nonweighted matters. I could easily get a 4.0 in the non-honors. Is that better than a 3.6 ish in al honors classes?

For colleges, they look both at your unweighted and weighted GPA's.  They do take the number of AP's and Honors classes you take into account.
