My whirlpool Refrigerator motor keeps running

Question

I have a side by side whirlpool refrigeratror. One of the doors was not closed completed yesterday for about 12 hours. I found it our last night. I closed the door. But the motor seems running whole night last night. this morning I turned off the whole thing, emptied the freezer side, waited for about two hours to get all ice melted. Then I restarted it. It's been running for 3 hours now without stopping. Is there anything wrong?Thanks.
