My whirlpool stove burners click and gas comes through but wont ignite the flame?

my stove when i u=turn the burner on it sparks and makes a clicking sound but wont ignite

The burners have very small holes in them and if plugged up they will not lite, remove the burner and inspect all the openings if blocked take a thin wire and clean out. The metal cover over the spark probe must be clean and free of grease, remove and clean.

Just because you hear a clicking sound doesn't necessarily mean the electrodes for the burners are where they should be.  One must be close enough to spark, but maybe not in the right position for the gas to hit it while there's an arc.   You may need a service guy to come check them and reposition them properly.

Did you by any chance spill something on them or wash them?
