Just got a 12 week Albino budgie as a companion to another but keeping them apart in separate cages for a week or so. Bought a starter kit to house the new bird temporarily and it came with all the usual extras including a RED calcium perch. Is this colour change harmful and will the bird return to normal white ?

  1. No, your bird will be fine :-)

Always be sure that any colored items are colored with bird-safe colors or dyes though.  You'll find many bird toys have been colored with vegetable-based dyes that will run and bleed when wet.  You needn't worry about those either.

    Good luck with your birds.

  3. He'll be fine, and will be white again - if you get rid of the colored calcium perches!

  4. must be normal stage itll be fine:)

  5. It will be fine. I think you can bathe it to get it pink again.

  6. nope it is fine for your bird, though the top of ur birds head may turn pink lol, after budgies are done eating or if they have pin feathers on their head they will rub their heads on perches, this is normal though, check out www.parrotcentral.net for good bird info, goodluck!
