  1. try using half the amount of bleach and using baking soda instead, it might help.

  2. you may have rust in your water.  if you have a softener, you can buy salt that helps get rid of rust and you can also pour some Iron Out in it.

  3. are they getting a yellowish color after washing or after drying?

The heat from dryers will breakdown certain fabrics, causing them to discolor.  There may be some rust in your water lines going to your washer or a rust spot in the washer itself.

  4. Manufacturers add a chemical to white fabric to make it look white.  After a few washes, that comes out leaving the white looking more yellow.  Bleach also contributes to the yellowing.  In the laundry aisle of your grocery store you can buy a product called Mrs. Smith's bluing.  Follow the directions and it'll turn your whites back to white.  Be careful though, because if you don't follow the directions, it will turn your whites pale blue.  I use it about every third wash.

    Good luck!

  5. try using "iron out" in your white wash. Be careful though not to have any "colors" in with the whites as they will be bleached out too!!!
