We hang at the oldest bar in town and most of the patrons are old enough to be our parents. We are in our early forties. Most of these folks are in there sixties and seventies. Even when we were in our twenties we always went to places where folks 20 or more years older than us hung out. Is this kind of behavior normal? Is there a name for it? What do you think about it?

You're chill people who don't like all the rush of your peers or people younger than you.  It's not 'normal', but it's also not the sort of thing you need to keep secrets.  Some people just like a different pace or a more old-fashioned atmosphere, that's all.
