  1. bookexcursions.com/nassau

  2. you need not worry about buying them from cruise.  see what cruise is selling on the website / how much they are to get ideas as to what you want to do.  you can do it much , much cheaper on your own.  just be sure to plan to arrive one hour before sailing.  traffic can change in these islands / cars break downs , you do not want to be late because they sail promptly / don't wait for passengers .   you will be fine though / have a great time.

  3. NEVER ---  NEVER --- NEVER  buy excursions from the cruise line.  You can save TONS of money by buying your excursions on shore or online from third parties.  Cruise lines charge crazy money for the same entertainment so they can get their cut.

Example:   We just got back from a 7 day Western Carib cruise (Conquest) -- we booked a stingray and snorkel excursion online from mobydickstours.com -- we were there longer -- did not have to WEAR THE DUMB YELLOW VESTS, and had fewer people on our boat --- your price was $35 per person ---- Carnival from "same" excursion -- $90 per person

  4. $30 minimum and up to about $150 or so

  5. I agree with pony!! hire a taxi for the day depending on the island your looking at $50.00-$100.00 a day just ask the taxi driver how much to hire him for the whole day. tell him what sights you want to see & save the $40.00-$50.00 per person per sight. He'll take you to the sights & you'll be leaving by the time the tour bus arrives. You'll get one on one information & make a new friend.

  6. Are you going to Nasa?  If so, get a taxi for the day and just have him tour you.  Have him take you over the bridge to Paradise Island and tour the underwater caves.  It is awsome.  When we go on vacation, we make an adventure out of it.  we seldom ever go on  those paid tours, we just tour our selved and we see more then most tourists do.  A full day with the taxi driver, tip and all costs up $100.oo we got to see how they live, went to there bars, ect it was great.  Just an idea.  The tours themself's, plan on at least spending $300 to $400 a day.

  7. Normally between $25-$100 - depends on what you want to do.

In the Bahama's I would recommend not paying for any shore excursions.   You can take a water taxi over to ATLANTIS resort for about $5.00 and spend the day there - for free.  You will be able to use the beach and casino.  You cannot use the slides or pools.

Or take a taxi to town - $4.00 - and do some shopping.

Unless you want to go swimming with the dolphins or something, don't waste your money on a ship's excursion.

  8. Shore excursions onboard are usually a few dollars more.  You can save a bit by booking independently.

Here's a link to the local tourdesk.

  9. Each cruise line has a website that shows the shore excursions and it corresponding cost.  Normally, you would pre-register on line before going on board.  After you pre-register, you can visit the shore excursions section for each port of calls.  I suggest you should try to register ahead for some of the shore excursions since the popular trips do fill up.

    Have fun

  10. You should check out the cruise line's website.  They generally have that information available.

From my experience, shore excursions vary widely, from about $50 per person to about $300 per person, depending on the activity.  Some might be cheaper, some might be more expensive.

I think that if you're going to splurge on a cruise, you should definitely spend the extra money on shore excursions.  When I went on a cruise, I took a shore excursion every day possible, and I had a great time and I have so many great memories from that vacation.

    Have a great trip!
