My wife and I are going to Zihuatanejo soon. Any suggestions from experienced visitors or locals?

We will be there for a week. Just wondering if there are some cool things that we might miss out on by not knowing the area? Are there things that we need to be aware of?

Bargain for everything...golf rates...sport fishing rates...even food.  Make sure to visit Ixtapa...and the beaches of Troncones...WOW...noy to be missed!!

And, don't buy anything in the way of gifts or tourist items when you see cruise ships in the harbor...local merchants increase all prices (dramatically in some cases) when cruise ship passengers are out shopping.    

Oh...and see your doctor first...ask for some ciprofloxacin to take w/ you...if you take only one of my suggestions...make it this one!!

visit LAS GATAS  is an Island for snorkeling, very nice.
