My wife and I are thinking about vacationing in Northern Italy. Any ideas where (maybe Italian Alps area)?

Also if anyone could maybe recommend some literature or maybe a travel show. Because I really don't know where to start!

There are lots of places in Northern Italy to spend nice holidays. It depends on what you are looking for.

If you like water, I'll suggest you Garda lake area, for example. It's full of beautiful landscapes, shores to sunbath, peacefull and funny small towns, a big amusement park. It's also near Verona, which is a beautiful and romantic town to visit. Venice and Milan are just two hours train far away, good for one day tours.

If you like mountains, I'll suggest you Dolomites area. Beautiful landscapes, mountain lyfestyle, great walks, trakking, climbing, skiing. Cortina D'Ampezzo is the best known town there. But there are several other nice villages.

You and your wife is going to have a ball ...dont worry Italy is easy to enjoy just go with the flow and you are going to find out that you get to see more and enjoy it alot better ...My husband and I just took a taxi every were they are very helpful and they take you to the best places .

We finally ended up in costa Rica we were looking for a place to retired and we fell in Love..with Costa Rica you and your wife should visit ..
