  1. they have these house that look like winabagos .there huge. biger oversized tractor trailers. seen them on travel channel. you might go travel chnnels web site to find them the show was from tennasee.but i think there just fresh water boats but you like checking them out wow.it will give you new ideas.

  2. There are a lot of power boats available in the price range that You list. Go to :

    http://www.yachtworld.com/

Use the advanced search option and gopherit!!!!! Peruse what is available in your area and start contacting owners and brokers. Go to marinas and ask folks about their boats. We all love to tell you all the good and bad things about our boats and boats that we have owned.

A trawler style or long range cruiser will give you more living and usable space than a sport boat or sport fishing boat.

Good luck and welcome to the boating life!!

  3. Sail or power?

  4. What ever you buy make sure it will have a resale value>I have a 48 sport fish great boat to live aboard and they are welcome in any marine as they have respect>Beam 15+ 2 state rooms>Twin Diesel only>>And they will cruise at around 20 knts> Any slower and they will rock you>Do a lot of research and talk to people as there are some with issues>>Depends if you want to stay in a marina or cruise around> And get 1 with a bridge great view and better handling >

  5. Take a look into Donzi or Sea Ray. These are world famous builders. Here are some model guides for you.

  6. If you wish to remain married, make doesn't really matter; just buy as big a boat as you can afford.   To prepare for living aboard a boat try both of you living in a large tent in the yardy for a couple months.    No storing anything you need in the house  or cooking in the kitchen either.

  7. Why do you hate your wife?  How long have the two of you lived in house of around 500 sq ft that moves constantly?  The purchase price of a boat may be cheaper than a waterfront house, but you must factor in fuel/oil costs, general maintenance, slip fees, and depreciation.  Boats never increase in value, unless its in a museum.

Seriously, I suggest buying a affordable waterfront condo with a slip.  Buy a modest used power boat and learn how big of a money sucking whirlpool it creates.  If it doesn't work out, you will always have the condo.

  8. There are lots of good manufacturers, but what you need to focus on is the type of boat that would make a good livaboard.  I think you start looking at boats that are at least 40' long.  I would go with a heavy diesel powered displacement boat.  To stay within your price range, you will be looking for a used boat.  For ease of maintenance, pick a fibreglass or aluminum boat.  To get an idea of what is out there, go to yachtword.com  They have thousands of boats for sale.  Start  by looking at a Grand Banks 42 Classic.  There are lots of boats of this type.  Good workmanship, seaworthy, and hundreds on the market at any given time.  Always buy a used boat that is in excellent condition.  Added repairs will eat up any savings made by buying a sub -par boat.  Other brands to consider:  Defever, Krogen, CHB, Marine Trader..
