You will need to apply for a Succession Certificate to the Bombay High Court.  If you want, you can contact Advocate R. Sathyanarayan at 98200 42060, he will not charge you excessively, compared to most other lawyers of Mumbai.

Is there property involved and did your wife make nominations wherever possible such as in bank accounts / society / FD etc.  In this case as long as there is no dispute between you and your daughter, you can transfer the property as per the nominations, and no need to go in for succession certificate.
