My wife got a negative result today, nine days after her IVF implantation. Could she still be pregnant?

My wife had four embyos implanted nine days ago. Today she had her first pregnancy and the result was negative. I have heard that it can sometimes take longer for the embryo to implant. Is this true? I can't find anything about this situation online.

THANK YOU!

  1. It seems a bit early to me to definatively say no.  I have not done IVF, but I have done OI with injectables with an RE.  Also I am a nurse.  Implantation can take 7-10 days, then hcg begins being made.  4 embryos really increases the chances, I would be cautiously optimistic.

  2. hi i no this isnt ansering ur question but me and my hubby are going to be going through ivf and im just wandering was the promblem with in u or ur wife its just im confused on a few things and maybe use could help please THANKS x x x

  3. 9 days after egg transfer the test will be accurate. It takes only 5 days after the transfer for the embryo to implant. Sorry it didn't work.

  4. They usually tell you to wait two weeks to take a test. It might be too early to get a positive result. Wait till day 14 to test again. Good luck to both of you I hope its positive.

  5. I definatley would not give up hope yet , 9 days is not that long i would give it a lttle while , the only other way to find out is to have a blood test done and this should tell you straight away wether you have been successful , fingers crossed for you both x

  6. If you are talking about a negative blood test then it is correct and she is not pregnant. So sorry if this is the case. If she got a negative on a home pregnancy test, then she very well could be pregnant and could get a positive reading later. The blood test is the best way to test for positive results. The embryos, if they were to, would have started implanting by day 3 after her transfer. Good luck to you!
