I am a U.S. Citizen. We've been married since Summer of 2004. My wife got her permanent green card on 4/2008. When can she apply for a U.S. citizenship? How does she do it? Which forms does she need to fill out?

  1. Since you are married she should be able to apply anytime. Must pass citizenship test than she can apply for US citizenship. She can download the forms at this site.

The package includes US citizenship form and the test Study Guide. Information for the test can be viewed at this site page.

The site also has more information to help you more. I hope this helps.

  2. your wife is eligible to apply for citizenship 3 years to the date she received her green card. i'm not exactly sure how to go about it but you can look it up at the uscis website. i received my green card in 2007 which means i'll be eligible to apply for citizenship in 2010 (since i married an american).
