My wife got stung by a small white furry insect about 1/2 cm long what is it and is poisonous?

if it's this, it's not a bite, it's stinging hairs .... it will hurt for a while but be okay as long as she's not got an allergic reaction....it would still be agood thing to have a doc look at it.... secondary infection is something to be avoided, too....

note on that one site(Puss caterpillar....very bottom of the page) that they're asking for info on where folks are running into this bug... seems they're increasing... hope you will help in that manner if this IS the bug... thanks...

If you don't know, take her to the hospital to be sure.  Medical expenses aren't cheap, but it isn't worth risking one's life over a sting from an unknown bug.  Some bugs are poisonous, as you know, and it isn't worth taking a chance if you don't know what kind of bug it is.
