My wife had an IVF (after 12 days the test is negative)?

My wife had an IVF, and they doctors say to us that she will need to do an test 12 days later.

1 day before she made test she got the menstruations,( this was not regulary to her because before making an IVF she suposed to had menstruations at the date 1 of each month, and this time she had menstruations 7 days before).

Can you please help me about this???

  1. We can't really answer your question accurately, as there's a lot of detail gone into planning and preparation with IVF. It's all a very precise procedure, and your doctor/s are the only one's who can really tell you what's going on.

  2. Due to the fertility meds being used to control her cycle for IVF . . . if she was not pregnant . . .her period would be off.  You cannot go by her previous schedule because the doctors are controlling her hormones.

    12 days might still be a bit early for a home pregnancy test to work.  ADD - my RE did not have me test until 15 days past the egg retrieval.

    She needs to contact her doctor, get a blood test to confirm whether or not she is pregnant and if she is not . . . you both need to sit down and talk to the doctor about what your options are for going forward.
