My wife has a schedule for an interview next week for US tourist VISA but I’m at US for vacation.?

I arrive in US last month by tourist VISA and the homeland security gave me 6 months to stay but i'm go home by june... My problem is my wife she has a schedule for an interview for toursit VISA at the US embassy back in my country next week, Does my wife has a chance to be approve by the console for her VISA? im not at my country the day my wife's interview.

  1. There is no reason for you to be there - it is very unlikely that you would be allowed to attend the visa interview with your wife.  She will be expected to provide her own factual basis for acquiring the visa.


  2. You do not have to be there, but your presence in the U.S. might adversely affect her chances of getting a visa. If you told the consular officer when you interviewed that you were only going for a short period of time and you've already been in the U.S. over a month, he or she might wonder if you are really planning on coming back. Just because you receive six months at the port of entry does not mean that YOU MUST stay six months. The consular officer will expect you to stay the length of time you said you were going to stay. Not doing so can adversely affect both your wife's chance of getting a visa this time and your chance of getting one in the future.
