My wife has an alcohol abuse problem. ?

Shes violent & has tried to hurt herself >> suicide on three ccassions. I want our divorce finished , but I want my kids as primary custodial parent. Can I get it ?

I would say yes especially if you have proof (like hospital bills and records for suicide attempts)Also if she refuses to get help for her drinking problem.The courts will most likely agree that the kids don't need to be living in that type of environment.Best of luck to you and your children.


  2. Yes you can prove it if it is not out of revenge and you truly believe your children are in danger of her actions. Offer her a chance to get treatment and to prove herself.  Get to am attorney because if there is documented truth of suicidal behavior the kids need to be in a safe home.  I hope she seeks help because I am a recovered alcoholic and I sought treatment because I was not a fit mother. Even my son thinks I need to forgive myself.  Seek out Al-anon support and I wish the best for you and family.
