My wife hit a parked car that was parked in the middle of the road.?

My wife backed out of our drive way, and a car was parked in the middle of the road on the oppisite side. The car she hit had no one in it and was turned off. The owner of the car stated that she just had to run in to the house to grab her children from day care, and told my wife she should have waited, or honked so she could have moved her car. Based on this, who is at fault?

Sorry to say, but your wife is at fault. She hit an object that was stationary. Even though it was not properly parked, she hit it.

Your wife is at fault. What if the car had been a child or an animal? She would still have hit it because she obviously did not look before backing out.

Your wife hit a parked vehicle.  Even if he vehicle is illegally parked you are still liable.

it doesn't matter though, if you run your car into something that's just sitting there...c'mon, don't you feel a little silly just asking the question?

whoever leaves their car in the middle of the street is a grade A xxxxxxxx (fill in the blank), but ya can't retaliate by crashing into their car, at least not legally.

Man, I wonder if the parents whose children stay across the road from your wife are aware of the danger....................

I would think it was your wife's fault.  I mean, the car was parked...no matter where it was, there was no one else in it.  Sorry.
