  1. Vegetarianisms is common  in the Caribbean. The five years I lived in ST Thomas  I knew of more vegetarian products there than I have ever seen here in the states. Mostly because of the Rastafarian religion that is prevalent throughout a lot of Caribbean islands. That diet is pretty restrictive but it is not quiet vegan...in fact they tend to eat a great of honey over sugar. But I think because of the population there there are more choices in restaurant and grocery store.s But all the same. ....I believe resorts in general will accommodate your needs.

I have one other recommendation...do not go anywhere ...where language may be a barrier. When you need to  provide detail description of your dietary needs, make sure you can be  understood by everyone handling your food  bus boys, maids, etc. I am reasonable proficient in Spanish but some Caribbean Spanish dialects can be a bit of a challenge.

  2. For vegetarians, dining out presents many challenges; finding vegan choices can be even more frustrating. You will fine many vegan restaurants through out the Caribbean but It's hard to pick one island. I believe Jamaica is popular island for vegetarians.

I think you would have better luck with cruises. Here is a link I found that may be helpful to your wife.

    Good Luck)

  3. For the Vegan Vegetarian, you can visit Antigua, there are two hotels that cater specially to customers with those needs Carlisle Bay Resort and Sun Sails Resort. There are also a variety of vegetarian Restaurants such as Kalabashe, Mama Lolly's, One Stone Ital Shop just to name a few. There are also some Vegetarian/ Health Food stores that provide a wide variety of Vegan groceries for health conscious and vegetarians alike such as Veggie World, Discount Food Center and Island Natural Health Food Store- and Restaurant.

I know the challenges of being a Vegetarian much less to be a Vegan but in Antigua there is a little bit of Paradise for every one even where cuisine is concerned.

  4. Jamaica
