I like many other men am a techno junkie, if it's a gadget i have got it. Well when we bought our house i probably went a bit over board. I just looked at it as another chance to have a bunch of cool gadgets.
Let me explain, when my wife comes home she gets about 50 feet from the garage door and it will recognize her car, and automatically open. Once she is inside it will automatically close behind her and turn the garage lights on. Once she gets out of the car the door to the house will automatically open and when she walks through it the lights turn on in the house and she is greeted by a cheery voice welcoming her home by name.
The house will then set the heating/cooling temperature to her comfort levels (it recognizes me too and adjusts appropriately. As she enters and exits rooms the lights will turn themselves on and off so she doesn't have to bother with light switches and the t.v. will turn itself on and tune to whatever her favorite channel for that time of day and day of week.
She doesn't have to vaccum, or clean the floors and i don't have to mow the lawn, i have robots to do that. The blinds and window shades will open and close on voice command. In fact there is a great deal of voice commands she can give the house depending on what she needs. "House playlist whatever" and it will start playing her music. You can tell my house to do just about anything you could imagine a house being capable of doing on it's own.
My wife says it's creepy, and is a bit afraid to come home. I don't understand this as to me it's just one cool house, and im always looking for something else to have it do on it's own.
Can anyone explain why she is afraid of the house?
