  1. Since you're living in the UK your wife is able to file directly with the embassy in London.  She will submit an I-130, I-864 and G-325A to the consulate.  This will get you an IR-1 immigrant visa for the United States.  It will take about 6 months.

Upon entering the USA, at the port of entry, the Immigration Officer will put an I-551 stamp in your passport.  That's the same as a green card.  You can use it to get a social security card and go right to work.

Your actual green card will arrive in the mail within a few months.

  2. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index....

    http://london.usembassy.gov/cons_new/vis...

The first link will  take you to a forum where you can ask questions and get support from others doing the same as you.

The second link will take you to the US Embassy site in London and tell you what to do.

  3. You'll have to go through the residency process, apply for a work permit, and all that. It's torturous and both of you are probably better off in the UK.
