  1. If she has a parent from there then she can apply for citizenship, then you can get a visa.  If she has a work visa then I don't think you can work there.

If her company transferred her and got her the visa then she is obviously a valuable employee to them, so you could always ask them for a position in their company for the 20 months in UK also ... or 20 round trips to UK to spend a weekend a month together.

  2. Why dont you ask her company?

  3. People really make up answers out of their bums sometimes.

Yes, you can work. Your wife's visa will be a work permit, your visa will be a work permit dependent. You have full rights to work, you are a free agent as long as your wife keeps her visa.

Work permit dependent is a great visa to have, you have much more freedom than your spouse- ie swap and change employer anytime you want.

  4. You have to find an employer BEFORE you go to Europe if you want to work there... If all you want to do is live there... then you can take the Hydrofoil over to France and back about every 45 days.

  5. I have never heard of a company transferring an employee and doing their paperwork, but not the paperwork for a spouse. Your wife should confirm that while they are preparing her work visa that you will also get one, what do they expect you to do, stay apart from your wife for 20 months or live in UK with only one income?
