  1. its not against the law

  2. Not sure about the rules in NY- here in the UK, it's okay, as long as the school is only few kilometers away from the house, and it's not the main road...check your law- and why is he sending them on their own? is he going to work?

  3. Why do you think all those crossing guards are standing about with stop signs?  Plenty of kids walk to school.  8 is a tad young in my book but it depends on the kid - but either way, with a 10-year-old sibling the 8 y-o is fine.

You could always talk to the school. They'll set you straight on whatever the policy is where you live.

  4. Its not against the law to have children walk to school.

  5. When in doubt, contact the police and just ask. I don't think its against the law. Times have changed though, and I'm not really comfortable with that either for that age, and I live in a rural town.

  6. It's not against the law.

There r quite grown up to walk alone to school------remember this will help them to develop their personality and one more thing this will increase their confidence level.

U r not walkyvoyale with this situations, i can understand that but in the other developing countries the children r left alone to go to their school in their cycle or by walking.

So, try to habituate in these it will in turn will be off good to ur children.

    HAVE A NICE LIFE------BYE.

  7. YOU as a father need to enforce the fact that you don't want them walking alone for their safety. Wouldn't it just be awful if one of them got hurt? Then who would you blame? Yourself for not not letting them walk. Take some responsibility here.

  8. It's not against the law.  Kids walk to school all the time.

  9. It's not against the law.  It might be imprudent thought.  Is there no one available to walk the kids?

  10. Nope, thats perfectly legal.

  11. Nope it's not against the law.  If it bothers you so much why don't YOU walk them to school?

  12. it is not against the law. kids that age walk to school by themselves everyday. i wouldnt worry so much. i am sure they have been taught how to be safe on the way to school. plus there are a ton of kids walking with them not to mention crossing guards and other parents out and about.

  13. Why on earth would that be against the law?  I do not see the logic here.  At 10 years old my neighbor even hired me to walk her younger kids to school.  10 is an appropriate age.

  14. Whether it's the law or not..... you're married.... and you're communicating this to us but not your wife?

If you feel your children are in danger then just take them to school yourself if your wife is being stubborn.

  15. Why don't you just call the police  or a lawyer and settle this ... they'll know the answer .

Does anyone know how to use a phone ,anymore ?

  16. that law does not exist. rearrange your schedule to walk with them or get them to walk ith a group of other kids from the neighborhood.
