My wife was left a property ?

in a will to be shared equally between herself and two sisters. My wife wants to sell the property but the other two do not. Can my wife force the others to sell?

  2. Generally speaking, no, the majority of the 'share holders' would need to agree, so in this case it would take any two of the three sisters in agreement,  However, it's worth asking a solicitor's advice.

  3. No. All three must agree. Best thing is to get a valuation and then the other two can buy your mother's share. If the do not then nothing you can do. If the house is let then the rental could be a useful income for the family.

  4. No. Legally everyone who owns it must agree upon something. The other two can buy your mom out of her share.

  5. If it's been left three ways & two wish to keep it, they should buy your wife out. If there are complications, this could drag out for years & cost a fortune in court.

  6. No. If your wife wants her share of the property, she can have the property appraised and the sisters can buy her out. If only one wants her share, she can then own 2/3 instead of 1/2. Or if they each want to be half owners in the property, then can each pay your wife 1/2 of the value of her share.
