My wifes interview date is 8/11 and i would like to know how long after do they aprove so she can enter the us

If she has everything she needs and she passes the interview, she should receive her immigrant visa within a day or two (this depends on the workload of the consulate where she applied - they will tell her when it will be ready).  Once she receives the visa, she can use it at any time.

As soon as she is approved she will be given a slip to pay for the delivery of the visa.. this usually takes between 2 and 5 days. She will then get her passport and her brown packet(not to be opened). After she is issued the visa she will have 6 months from that date to enter the USA. If she does not enter within the 6 months her visa will be void.

If she pass the interview and there is nothing else wrong with her papaer work, It usually takes something like six, seven months of process called Adminstrative Review and Adminstrative Process. The Adminstrative process is a bit complicated. They send the case to Washington and they type the applicant's name in the data base to look if he/she is convicted of any crime. Now when they search for your name in the database, it als depend what kind of name do you have? is your name very common or unique? if you have a common name it is going to take longer time because a lot of name samiliar to yours will pop in the database and they have to look and see if that is you. to make is short my interview went very smooth and I have a very unique name it took 6months after for them to issue me the visa after my first interview.
