My A/C unit was working fine all summer, but now as soon as I turn it on it spits out water vapor (and some droplets) instead of just cold air. Anything that I can do, or is this thing hosed?

  1. Nope the drainage hole in the back is simply clogged up..go out and unstop the hole for the drainage with a coat hanger..it has not let the water drain out..now it is filling up and your squirrel cage fan on the inside is di[pping into the standing water inside as it turns and throwing it out the front....Your drainage hole will either be underneath the unit on the outside..and if no hole..then look on the back of the unit and the frame that goes around the fins in back..at the bottom you will see that frame is about 3/8 an inch all the way around the back of the unit..you will see part of the frame that has a little notch in it where it is abour 1/2 an inch lower than the rest of the frame..That is where the water drains on this type..If too dirty in there a freind can help you take the unit out of the frame..and wash it out good with a water hose..
