My window AC turns on but it doesn't do anything?

The front panel comes on and we set it to cool but its like if the whole back part of it is dead. It doesn't make a sound or blow out anything. So i dont see why it says its on, but doesnt work. whats the problem?

If you have a fuse panel, make sure that both fuses going to the ac are good and not blown. It sounds like you have a 220v unit that is only getting 110v. This would make the display work, and nothing else. If you have a breaker panel, it could be a bad breaker, or one that is not fully reset causing to lose one leg of the power. Try turning the breaker off and back on and see what happens. good luck!

Get a meter and check if voltage exists or where you are losing it.
