Caused by blow from 2 year old grandson

At the opticians I think they'd fix them heating them up, but what with, how hot.

  1. if its metal - dont heat it - you'll just weaken one of the soldered joints. The trick is to bend them away from the joint if you can - the optician will have a neat set of snipe nosed pliers for gripping them in just the right place, to do this. The metal should by design have the properties to bend, re bend and hold it's shape. Your optician is less likely to break them than you are, and will probably be only too happy to help. Discuss it with them - you can always decline.

  2. The optician will do the best job always, and are the only choice if the bend is severe.

However I've straightened mine lots of times.

Open them and lay them on a flat surface upside down.

Both ear pieces should touch the surface,  both arms should be at the same angle to the lenses.

Once viewed, it will be easier to know where they have become bent.

I've never heated mine, and seldom use tools, just bare hands and frequent checking on the flat surface.

    Good luck.

  3. Best not to do it yourself, just in case.  I'd let the optician do it, then if they get it wrong and break them . . .

  4. I agree with the second answer, however, if you do want to have a go with heat, the best source is the high setting on a normal hairdryer, using the hair straightening directional nozzle. Wear a pair of gloves so you don't get your fingers too hot, and remember to keep to flat surfaces.

  5. Let your optician do it for you to avoid creating more damage. My opticians do this for free.
