My upper right molar has a bracket on it, and next to it, a new tooth is growing. I recieved my braces about a week ago, and they skipped the growing tooth, leaving a large arch. I was eaing diced apples when the wire slid out of its bracket. The bracket is still closed and in position, but the wire is outside of the bracket. What do i do?

  1. Tell ur mom or call your orthodontist to fix it!

  2. you can push it back into place for now but you should go back to your ortho to get it fixed.

  3. With my orthodontist if something like that happens i can just go back without an appointment and they will quickly slide the wire back in place. If it is closed or something or i can't get to the orthodontist i have used tweezers to push the wire back into the bracket. Luckily i wont have to worry about this anymore because i am getting mine off today! Hope this helps.

  4. Tweezers are useful for sliding the wire into place. Try that, then call your orthodontist.

  5. Go to your orthodontist immediately! DO NOT SHIFT THE WIRE BACK! You may place it back incorrectly, and make your teeth shift an incorrect way.

  6. Call your orthodontist and ask them if it is a problem.  If it is still comfortable (not jabbing or bleeding) then they can tell you if it something that you need to go in for sooner, or if it can wait until the next visit.

  7. Whenever you have a problem with your braces, especially something like your wire slipping out, you have to go to your orthodontist immediately. call them beforehand, and when you call their office if noone is in there they'll direct you to their emergency number. after that, you'll find your doctor and they'll either give u instructions or they'll set up an appointment later that day.

it's because if you keep your wire out for long, your teeth will shift again and the point of braces will kinda be...pointless you know what i mean? so you have to get it fixed as soon as possible.

    good luck!!

  8. call the orthodontist and get a emergency appointment
