My wireless network adapter connects on one computer but on my other one it only tries to acquire the network?

i installed the wireless network adapter on both computers. when i pull up windows wireless network connections it has a good signal but when i try to connect it keeps saying acquireing network address but it never does. i plug the same wireless network adapter into my other computer and it connects right away.

  1. I think the problem is that your other computer is too far away from where the signal is.

    Sometimes when the computer is too far away and the signal isn't strong it will keep on appearing the acquire the network.

    If it connects, it will say you have limited connectivity.

    If this doesn't work, reset your wireless adapter (there should be a small button on the bottom or the back).

    If nothing works, call the company who make the adapter, no doubt they will solve your problem.

  2. Sounds like a length issue, or OS un-compatibility.  Is one farther than the other? Is one running a different OS? Is the adapter USB or PCI?
