  1. Try going to google.com

Your router may not have internet.

    Try using firefox.

  2. If this is a new setup yo may need to reset everything in a particular order.  When this happens to me I have to do the following:

    1. Unplug router

    2. reset or unplug your modem

    3. plug your modem back in (if unplugged)

    4. wait for all the lights to come back on then plug in your   router.

I don't know if this is your case or not but that always works for me.

  3. Did you connect through via My Connections?

Are all the cables in the right place?

Are you using ether net cables?

If it's cable... Do you have it connected to the cable slot?

    It's not IE. (Get Firefox)

Do you have a ethernet connecting to the modem to the router. And a ethernet connecting to the computer from the router

  4. another great example of so called computer techs that are 100% clueless

you can connect to a wireless signal all day and not pull a website if the router is not pulling a IP , did you check to see if the dhcp is enabled , did you check the status to see if it is infact pulling a ip ??/  did u set the gateway correctly , these are all places ANY TECH  with 2 hours of knowledge would tell you to look first

  5. A working connection from your network card to the router means you may installed both items correctly.  You also have to make sure you setup the modem (dls or cable) and the router settings (depends if you are using the modem or router to input your username and password and settings).  If either of them are not setup correctly, you can still have a connection between the network card and the router but will not be able to access the internet.

  6. Happens all the time to me, its nothing with your computer, its the network, you need to contact them

  7. If it says webpage offline, all you would need to do is go under file if you are using IE 6 and remove the check mark from "work offline" or if you are using IE 7 it can be under tools or file depending how your IE is set up....  You can also try clearing your cookies and temp files...  If that doesn't work, you might want to contact your ISP...
