My x box live jack wont fit in phone jack what do i do i have no cable?

Xbox and 360 use high speed internet connections. You can connect them directly to a cable or DSL modem, or to your home network router.

The connection used is a RG45 that has 8 pins, a standard telephone plug is an RG11 that has 4 pins.  

your telephone line cord may fit into the RJ45 jack of your xbox, but you may damage the connector, and if you connect this line cord from the Xbox to an active phone jack in your home, you are going to cause a short on your phone line, and you will not have dial tone on any of your phones until you remove this cord from your phone line...

your Xbox Live cable is an ethernet cable. your phone cable is a phone cable. two completely different things. go to a store or online and buy an eternet cable
