My x is taking me back to court (custody matters)?

he served me order to show cause papers. do i need to file a responsive declaration before we go to court?

In most states, a response is not mandatory, however it's in your best interest to have one prepared and filed in case the Court reviews the paperwork prior to the hearing (which you'll have to attend).  At a minimum, you should consult with a family law attorney before appearing in court.  If you can afford an attorney, the attorney should appear with you.  You can never be too prepared for a custody battle no matter what side you're on.

  3. you need to response back to his motion in court, custody matters are serious and all..just have all of your documentation in order to fight your side
