I beleive it was last july, we got in an arguement causing her to attack me, punching kicking, and scratching. I was getting hit in the head so of course I try to catch her arms and hold on to them to keep her restrained. I also blocked some of her kicks and punches with open hands and she got some bruises on her arms and legs. She took pictures, I went to work and showed my chief who told me to get rid of her. Thats what I did but we took no pictures. I was charged with assault fam violence. She did this about 1 or twice a month, I was used to it. She was taking anti-depressants, anxiety and sleeping meds at the same time, I want to know if I will be charged due to the bruises. I was scratched from head to toe bleeding just didn't think to go to the police. I don't know why.

  1. NEXT TIME USE A PHONE BOOK ...NO MARKS ...

  2. it sucks, but the law tends to favor women in these kinds of cases----Ive seen it before

  3. Yea, I know of many instances where this has happend, Once the wife of  a friend of mine broke a beer bottle over his head( he is a Lawyer and knows the law)., so he knew that if he it her to make her stop , he would be charged, ... he called the police and he was arrested (he didn't even touch her) screwed if you ask me.

  4. Its so unfair that the law favors women in cases such as these. If this happens again, take pictures and provide evidence of her mental health issues. Hopefully this is the end of this unhealthy relationship and you can move on to happiness with a new partner and/or do something for yourself and be yourself again. Good luck!

  5. Yes you'll be charged...

  6. You should sue her for this assault as well. Take pictures of your injuries. Show the judge she her pattern along with her emotional condition. if you can get a hold of her medication, show that as evidence and start putting a log together of your own documenting all of her assault's. The law unfortunately works like this whomever has the most compelling evidence wins any case. I know it may be hard to do if you love her but this love get can get you locked up. with marks on your character and that will follow you for the rest of your life. Also try to seek counseling and if she decline's show that as well that you did all that you could. Good luck think about your safety first.

  7. get a lawyer on this one... you are going to need it

  8. Get a lawyer... I was on a jury for a similar case. The husband had no proof that she had assaulted him, and he had done a lot to her as well, even though he claimed it was self defense. Eventually because her story wasn't tight, we found him not guilty.

  9. That totally sucks and I hate to say it but the police and court almost always see the woman as the victim, wish it would change, maybe someday. Same thing happened to my husband with his ex. She was hitting him in the face and he pushed her away and while doing so she got a 2 centimeter cut whereas he had a black eye and scratches all on his face.

The system is messed up, so your not the only one......

  10. Ouch, I feel sorry for you mate
