My xBox 360 blinks 3-4 lights, is it messing up?

Most of the time when I play Halo 3, my xbox freezes. Sunday when my cousins were playing my xbox. Three red lights blinked. But I had this before, last time it was 4 red lights. It seems to work just fine everytime I restart it. It freezes alot in Halo 3, twice in Bioshock, and only once in Halo 2. What's happening?

3 possiblilities. One your discs may be scratched. Two maybe somebody knocked it over and it just doesnt work, or this one happened to me my Xbox kept freezing so i took it in and it turns out that there was mass amounts of dust in the hardrive and in the console itself.
