My xbox 360 can't find the wireless adaptor?

i got a new wireless adaptor for my xbox 360 and i have no idea on how to get it start can someone give me step by step on how?

I bought mine the other week.

Go to Network connections, on the sytems tab.

Then choose your network from the list. If u have security obviously type that in, and then press test connection
