My xbox 360 mic doesn't work

Question

ive tried multiple controllers and mics but i cant talk or hear anybody ive checked the mic is turned on and everything it is a wired controller that came with the elite it is one that fits in a chat pad why doesn't it or any other mic work????

Ive had the same problem man, it's very very frustrating.  You are going to have to get another mic, you can get one at walmart for 15bucks, if you try to rewire that mic you might be able to temporarily fix it but in the long run it's just easy to get a new one.  Good luck.

you mean the one that attaches to the little keyboard? It has a bad connection. there's what you do. Take out the keyboardthingy and the mic. Put a LITTLE bit of tooth paste in the chat pad hold and plug in your mic. it will will in the cracks and is conductive so it will give you really good reception
