My xbox broke. should i buy cod4 (pc) until i get a new one?

my 360 broke and i am waiting to buy a new one. is call of duty 4 any good on pc, is online play free and as good as on xbox live. what controllers would you recommend, preferably cheap so i can still save up for my new 360.

if you have a decent pc then defiantly get it. but learn how to use a keyboard and mouse or you'll get whooped! you can use a standard 360 controller if you have to. borrow one maybe, if its wireless you'll need an adaptor tho. and yes, its free.

EDIT: i thought you could use a 360 controller...at least thats what i got told! but even if you could, the other guy is right, you need to use a keyboard and mouse otherwise you wont stand a chance!

COD4 is better online on a PC than a console, but only if you have a decent PC.  That being said, you DO NOT want to use a gamepad/controller to play it.  There is no auto-aim c**p on PC.  The game doesn't cheat for you.

Online play is free, of course.  That's standard for PC games...

EDIT:  COD4 does not natively support the use of a gamepad on the PC.  You would have to use Switchblade or JoyToKey to have the controller emulate mouse/keyboard functions.  It's just not meant to be played with anything other than a keyboard and mouse setup on the PC.
