My yamaha yst800 subwoofer has no sound coming out. How can Icheck to see if it works?

I have a yamaha yst800 subwoofer I think it could be broken. I hooked it up through inline connections but no sound. What are the ways I can check to see if will work?

First make sure you have everything hooked up right.

If your Home theater system has a test tone (most do). Use it to test your speaker system. It will most likely send a test tone to your subwoofer. If you hear the subwoofer... your working fine.

If that dosn't work you can try taking the Subwoofer cable and plug it into one of the record outputs left or right . Now send the test tone again. Now if you don't hear anything from your sub it might be bad.

But before you giveup... Try checking the volume.
